  • A very popular tourist village located on the Mediterranean Sea of \u200b\u200bTurkey in the resort of Side.

One of the few villages of Kumkoy combines both a wonderful vacation by the sea and a lot of opportunities for entertainment.

Kumkoy will appeal to both families with children and youth companies. Prices for holidays in the village are lower than in the whole resort of Side.

    Kumkoy hotels. Side

The hotels in the village are very different. As in most resorts in Turkey, there are fashionable hotel complexes with a variety of services, and small economy class hotels.

As already mentioned, hotel prices in Kumkoy are slightly lower than in other areas of Side. Well, within the village, prices, of course, also differ depending on the category and location of the hotel.

Entertainment and shopping in Kumkoy. Side

Among small Turkish villages in terms of entertainment, Kumkoy is clearly the leader.

In addition to entertainment and sports programs on the territory of hotels and beaches, there are many discos, clubs, cafes and restaurants in the village. The city rages all night, calming down only towards dawn.

Lovers of forays into shops will also be delighted. By and large, with the exception of the beaches, Kumkoy has one big bazaar. Shopping centers, a variety of shops, souvenir shops.

    Kumkoy beaches. Side

The beaches of the village are worthy of all praise! The wide coastal strip is covered with amazing sand, not so frequent on the shores of Turkey.

A gentle and comfortable entry into the water, a smooth increase in depth - all this is ideal for relaxing in Turkey with children . Only in hotels, the last in the direction of the city of Side, stones can be found at the entrance to the sea.

Since there are many party-goers in Kumkoy, as a rule, still resting in the morning, there are not many people on the beaches in the morning.

Well, as in all popular villages of Side, all the most interesting water activities, attractions, and beach sports are presented on the beaches of Kumkoy.

    Where is located

The village of Kumkoy is located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey in the resort of Side. Only three kilometers separate it from the city of Side and 70 kilometers from the airport antalya.

    Sights of Kumkoy. Side

Kumkoy cannot boast of such gorgeous greenery as, say, the villages of Sorgun or Titreyengel, but in general it is quite picturesque here. However, there are no sights in the village.

Located almost in the center of the Side coast, Kumkoy is an excellent starting point for traveling to interesting places in the region. Ancient cities, natural beauties and much more ... More

Kumkyou (Kumkoy), a village 5 km from the city of Side. A popular resort on the Mediterranean Sea, east coast, 60 km from Antalya, 10 km from the town of Manavgat.

We rested in the fall of 2015, but did not understand where the border between Colakli, Evrenseki and Kumkei was. It probably exists, as we have between the districts, but only local residents and postmen know about it.

Our hotel, I wrote a Review about it (link below), in the description on different sites is located in Evrenseki. The hotel guide wrote on the voucher - Colakli, and the inscriptions on minibuses and buildings were - Kumkoy. For example - the sign of Kumkoy Bazaar, right if you cross the river along the bridge, 200 meters from the hotel. Photo of the river from this bridge.

So, if you are considering the Side region, then pay attention to the address of your hotel, if one of these names is written - Colakli, Evrenseki, Kumkei, then you will be somewhere near those places that I am describing.

There are many hotels in Kumköy. Large, 4-5-6 storey, with beautiful roofs that shine with lights at night.

There are no residential buildings, or rather they are, but somewhere in the distance, near the mosque, which is across several roads (carriageways) and where tourists do not need to go at all. By the way, I draw your attention to the fact that of course there is the first line, but there are also many 2nd, 3rd and even 4th, hotels that stand behind the roadway and the sea from many is not something that is not visible at all, from them to he is not that close. But, of course, there is a service, buses with tourists run constantly. But the eye will not stop at anything, except that the territory of the hotel is beautiful, otherwise you will look at the vacant lots or the road.

The roads are paved with paving stones, neat, even stylish. Probably, this is a distinctive feature of Kumköy, as for example in Bodrum, white marble paths.

So, crossing the bridge over the river that flows into the sea, we see a hookah cafe, by the way, there are very few of them. Most likely because of the hotels themselves, they are all all-inclusive, mostly 5 *, mostly Germans rest there, in the fall there were elderly couples (in the majority) who are already well fed, watered and entertained on the territory of the hotels.

Passing the Luna Blanca 5 * hotel and the next one, exactly the same in appearance (which look at the wasteland, I am writing this for those who care about the view from the window), then past the Side Paradise Hotel 4 * (you will not see the sea from it, for sure), you get to the crossroads, from which the shopping arcades begin, where dolmush buses go to Side and Manavgat (3 lira or 1.5 Euro). There is a stop, it can be recognized by the letter D.

Shopping arcade. Everything is in one style, two-storey houses, the first floor is a shop, and the second is a warehouse or the owner's dwelling. The sellers are unobtrusive, they immediately determine that you are not Germans, they do not persuade you to come in. Almost everyone speaks German, both in hotels and on the streets. I never heard Turkish music, even passing by a few cafes. Julio Iglessias and other fashion hits were heard from them.

By the way, supermarkets, such as chain ones, such as Migros, Genpa, etc. in Kumkeyo no. At first we searched, bypassed what we could. But they asked at the hotel and we were sent to Manavgat, confirming our guesses that, alas, there are no such shops. Go there for dolmush, about 20-25 minutes.

They sell in malls ... clothes from Aliexpress. All from China. Without exaggeration. Sports goods 80%, some sweets, souvenirs. Prices from 5-10 Euro. But we did not find the standard towels and bed linen here.

There are a lot of Opticians. Just in every row. If I was surprised at the number of pharmacies and medical centers in Bodrum, then for some reason here Optics. Maybe because German retirees love to relax in this region so much and buy glasses intensively?

In addition to rows of shops, there is a large shopping center, pompous, with columns. Inside there is a cafe, and the same sporting goods. It looks like the Cherkizovsky market inside.

There is a Marla clothing chain, several stores, but the prices there will scare away our tourists 59-159 euros. But Europeans queue up in the fitting room.

The streets are well-groomed, several fountains, even some idea with a sculpture of a man (somewhat peeling, unfortunately). Beautiful shrubs, all trimmed with care and knowledge.

During the day, the streets are empty, in the evening, after dinner, tourists walk, buy sluggishly, but dig even in the ruins All for 2 euros. The few cafes are empty. I haven't seen any discos at all. There is a big minus, it is on the shopping streets in the evening that there is a strong smell of sewage. Neither from the river, nor near the hotels it is not.

I liked Kumköy for its silence and unobtrusiveness. There are many dogs, both on the streets and near the sea, all with chips in their ears, kind. Cats, a separate topic, beautiful, fat, kind. Near each hotel there are houses for them and cat food is poured, and in the hotel there is a box "for cats", there you can put some money.

I didn’t like that many hotels are on the road, even expensive hotels. And the balconies are transparent. A huge minus, few people like to come to rest and listen to passing cars all night. Well, and the view (for aesthetes) of the road and the neighboring street, shops or some hotel.

And so, if you are still going to Kumkyou, most likely you will not regret it. The beach is sandy, the sea is shallow and clean. The resort is quiet, not youthful. Yes, there are no special beauties, the mountains are far away and they are almost invisible in the haze, palm trees are only in hotel territories, but there is a good promenade along the coast, with paths that are enough for everyone, both just walking and those who run.

But, here's the thing, the promenade ends near the river that is in my photo and starts anew only after a long distance, about 1 km (maybe more). So you can get to Side itself only along the seashore. Or partially along the shore, and then go to the promenade. This is a long time, 2.5-3 hours, no less.

I also want to celebrate the weather. We rested in the second half of October and it was +32 and a little higher, but without the suffocating heat and humidity. Very comfortable. If you remember that in other regions even at the end of September a jacket is needed in the evening, then here I never put it on or put on closed shoes. So, as they write everywhere, Alanya and Side are the warmest climate in Turkey, and it is.

Pomegranate juice, just in season, was sold everywhere - a glass of 1-1.5 euros.
